Brace for IMPACT

What impact have our blogs and campaigning had?

We started blogging and campaigning in January 2019.  We'd been told that in order to attend the Haringey SEND Reforms meetings we had to agree to share the information from the meetings. We were more than happy to oblige.

It is time to reflect on the impact we have had on influencers and decision makers in Haringey blogging about our life as parents of a clinically extremely vulnerable child with a severe life limiting disability and complex additional needs - thank you for listening

Successful public services must be designed to meet the needs of the local people that they supposed serve. Haringey's local authority officers cannot create alone services that people truly need and will be able to use. Officers need to reach out to local service users at every stage of service design and provision to make sure that they are doing what the people they serve want and need: when they are researching service provision, thinking and planning about what service users need, and essentially ensuring that services meet the needs of the most vulnerable to ensure that they can participate more fully in all aspects of life. We write about the challenges we faced on a daily basis when trying to access services and what needs to change.
