Crutch Haringey is a financial hardship support programme from Citizens Advice Haringey ending April 2020. The project has supported people without referrals or previous support, from isolated parts of the local community. They are hosting an event on Wednesday 18th March 2020: Beyond Advice - with immediate and direct access to Haringey based support services

1. Local services under one roof

The event is designed to bring all local services together under one roof and to eliminate the need for referrals for at least one day, all services available on day will be offering their services directly.

2. Two discussion groups

During the event Crutch Haringey will host two panel discussions on two key topics for the project, Food Poverty and Haringey's response to Crisis. Key figures from the community will sit on these panels with the hope of sparking debate and shaping the future responses in the borough.

3. Your view is needed

Crutch Haringey want local people to contribute to the panel discussions and for anyone who is looking for support to attend the main event.

4. Host a stall

Haringey SEND Transport: 17 year old obnoxious diesel fume spewing death trap on wheels - and Haringey knows it

Haringey SEND Transport are insisting that a 17 year old minibus with no air conditioning is a suitable vehicle to transport my paraplegic son in this heatwave. The appalling conditions inside the minibus inside the bus is something they knew about last summer, yet they have to date done nothing whatsoever provide a suitable minibus this year nor appropriately mitigate the temperatures inside the minibus.The conditions inside the minibus are so bad that they triggered multiple seizures during the heatwave as my son has epilepsy, which they SEND transport department know about and they also know that they are triggered by heat.It is not just son who is impacted: last year we know of one child who died on Haringey SEND Transport in the summer heatwave and another who had seizures.
