Yes, you probably missed parts 1 to 3 (we all did)

Background
Haringey will be running a SEND Transport consultation meeting on Wednesday 5th February 2020 in response to a decision made at the council meeting on Tuesday 10th December 2019, when a decision called “Award of Contract for the provision of SEND Transport Transformation Consultancy Services” was postponed to allow for further due diligence – including consultation with parents.
This is the 4th part of an ongoing consultation on SEND Transport which we have been told by Haringey has already comprised of:
1 A review of feedback from the Local Offer event and
Fairness Commission events
2 A review of complaints and complaints patterns;
feedback in SEND reforms meetings and Co-production meetings; a review of blogs
3 A consultation involving 50 parents from 2 special
schools in Haringey
In preparation for the planning of this consultation the Difficult Parent has been doing some background reading into consultations and has found a checklist for consultations from the Local Government Association. So, we have meandered through the checklist, using the LGA’s ‘New conversations guide’ as well as other local and national documents referenced at the end of this blog.

The Local Government Association's Consultation Checklist
This is a light touch review of the process so far against the local government association’s consultation checklist, with additional references to the government's consultation guidance and Haringey’s consultation charter
What follows is a quick overview of the typical stages of a consultation and the things the LGA say you should keep in mind when conducting a consultation.

Haringey SEND Transport are insisting that a 17 year old minibus with no air conditioning is a suitable vehicle to transport my paraplegic son in this heatwave. The appalling conditions inside the minibus inside the bus is something they knew about last summer, yet they have to date done nothing whatsoever provide a suitable minibus this year nor appropriately mitigate the temperatures inside the minibus.The conditions inside the minibus are so bad that they triggered multiple seizures during the heatwave as my son has epilepsy, which they SEND transport department know about and they also know that they are triggered by heat.It is not just son who is impacted: last year we know of one child who died on Haringey SEND Transport in the summer heatwave and another who had seizures.
